If you want
a miracle, change your attitude.
August’s Awakening, Day 17
Any fact facing us is not as important
as our attitude toward it, for that determines our success or failure.
—Norman Vincent Peale
A strong positive attitude will create
more miracles than any wonder drug.
—Patricia Neal
Your attitude, not your aptitude, will
determine your altitude.
—Zig Ziglar
Therefore,
since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off
everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run
with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the
pioneer and perfecter of faith. Hebrews 12:1–2a NIV
Success in life requires the proper
attitude as the motivating factor to achieve the greater end. The basic formula
for success may be summarized by this: Attitude x Effort x Skill = Performance.
Note that without the proper attitude, it matters not your skill level or
effort involved, for the underlying attitudinal motivation is always essential.
Success requires all the ingredients to be in proper proportion and properly
mixed. If anything is lacking, performance will suffer. The most success will
come when we concertedly pay attention to our attitude, effort level applied,
and the continual increase in our skill level and skill set. If you want to
reach the stars, you’ve got to believe that somehow you can get there, and make
every effort to do so.
