Trust is
tempered and purified in the fiery challenges of life. Are you cracking in
resistance or being strengthened?
November’s Awakening, Day 29
I needed to
trust Him in order to allow Him to truly order my steps and lead me through the
process to the promise and purpose that He had established for my life.
—Chrystal
Armstrong, “God’s Divine Design for Dating and Marriage”
Our story
will entail challenges to trust God in ways we never imagined we could, or
would, and we’ll one day realize that this was all temporary? This story, our
life doesn’t define us in eternity, but it prepares us for it.
—Cherie
Hill, “empty. (Living Full of Faith When Life Drains You Dry)”
Those
who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures
forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people
both now and forevermore. Psalm 125:1–2 NIV
Trust is a continual process of
knowing with assurance, learning from life experiences, and relying on His
infinite power and compassion for us. The challenges of life are precisely the
stimuli required to initiate and propel this trust growth process. As difficult
as it may be, we must embrace the process rather than resist it. As each life
challenge presents itself, we should be looking for the lessons God wants us to
learn and know with assurance that He is working it all out for our ultimate
good. If we face the obstacle again, it should be much easier to overcome, and
for each new obstacle we now have the assurance and experience to know that we
can overcome that too.
