Your eye may be the window of your
soul, but the Bible is the mirror.
November’s Awakening, Day 4
There is nothing that I believe will create the
change we want to see in the world more than if God's people will read God's
Word and be transformed by the power contained within it.
—Brian Hardin, “Passages”
Most
people are bothered by those passages of Scripture they do not understand, but
the passages that bother me are those I do understand.
—Mark
Twain
An honest man with an open Bible and a pad and
pencil is sure to find out what is wrong with him very quickly.
—A. W. Tozer
I believe that we understand Scripture more than we are
willing to admit, simply because it becomes difficult sometimes to see our
flaws in the mirror. More so, it is even harder to be willing to admit the need
for change and to wholeheartedly commit to implementing it. Complacency is our
fallen human nature. Granted, we cannot change the genetics we’ve been given,
nor can we change our past, but we can diligently understand ourselves better
and work concertedly to continually strive to improve. There is no condemnation
in Christ, but there is an expectation to purposefully follow Him and become
like Him. With continuous effort, the flaws will become fewer, and the wonder
of your beauty more apparent.
