It’s Thanksgiving, so be thankful for
all the truly important things in life and even more so, express that
thankfulness wholeheartedly.
November’s
Awakening, Day 24—For Thanksgiving
Let us thank God heartily as often as
we pray that we have His Spirit in us to teach us to pray. Thanksgiving will
draw our hearts out to God and keep us engaged with Him; it will take our
attention from ourselves and give the Spirit room in our hearts.
—Andrew Murray
Genuine
thanksgiving is a response to both who God is and what He has done, is doing,
and will do.
—Joyce
Meyer, “The Power of Simple Prayer”
All
this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more
people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. 2
Corinthians 4:15 NIV
You
will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion,
and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 2
Corinthians 9:11 NIV
Thanksgiving
is a great day to reflect upon everything of importance that you should show
gratitude and appreciation for. But it shouldn’t be the only day. We need to
cultivate that attitude of gratitude every day and express it openly.
Personifying a grateful attitude is both healing to self and to others, and it
keeps us looking forward to a positive tomorrow rather than living in a
regretful past. Have a grateful heart, with an always compassionate mind, and
exemplify those attitudes wherever you go and to whomever you see. Have
Thanksgiving every day.
