God’s Attributes as to Moral Beings—5

Today we finish our discussion of the attributes of God. Hopefully this exercise has illuminated the character and nature of God and brought you into a deeper understanding and closer relationship with Him.

September’s Awakening, Day 1

Veracity. God speaks the truth, nothing but the truth, and is trustworthy in every way. He is true and His Word is true, so we can fully trust in Him, put our hope in Him, and rely on Him in every way.

He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a human being, that he should change his mind.” 1 Samuel 15:29 NIV

God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. Hebrews 6:18 NIV

in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, Titus 1:2 NIV

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. Revelation 19:11 NIV

Persistence. God’s long-suffering nature and his patience toward His people. We are a stubborn and stiff-necked lot, and thankfully God waits patiently and works patiently with us.

But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. Psalm 86:15 NIV

Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance? Romans 2:4 NIV

What a wonderful God we serve. If you ever think for a moment that you’re lost and alone and beyond help, turn to God and remember who He is and what He’s all about. He is your God, your personal God, your Abba, Father, the One who is always there waiting with open arms for you.
