Delight, Commit, and Trust

If you’re not delighting, committing, and trusting in the Lord, you’re missing out on most of the great things He has for you.
July’s Awakening, Day 7

There are very few who in their hearts do not believe in God, but what they will not do is give Him exclusive right of way. They are not ready to promise full allegiance to God alone.

 —D. L. Moody

I feel that, if I could live a thousand lives, I would like to live them all for Christ, and even then, I would feel that they were all too little a return for His great love to me.

 —C. H. Spurgeon

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. Psalm 37:4–6 NIV

If you want an abundant life, to be successful in every endeavor, and to live a noble life full of joy, you must follow the directives of Psalm 37:4–6. Delight in the Lord, commit your way to the Lord, and trust in Him. To delight in the Lord is to love Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30). That’s loving Him first with everything that you are, not just some, not just part—but everything. Committing your way to Him is seeking Him first in every choice and decision of your life and following His every leading. Trusting in Him is an assured certainty that He is Lord over all and nothing is impossible with Him.

Jesus doesn’t want just a part of you, He wants all of you, totally committed and dedicated to Him. If you give Christ your all, great will be your reward and benefits. Christ gave His all for you, so what is His life worth?
