Is Your Passion Your Purpose?

Maybe God put that passion deep within you. Maybe that’s your purpose. Sometimes, you need to step out in faith and follow your heart into your purpose.

December’s Awakening, Day 2

A willing heart is the first step in finding God’s will in our lives. We cannot expect God to force us or to plead with us about the calling in our lives.

 Dr. David Jeremiah

The rules of this world are about self-promotion, whereas the rules concerning God’s kingdom are about humility and submission to the leading of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

 Christopher Roberts, “God Never Fails”

Many are the plans in a personʼs heart, but it is the Lordʼs purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21 NIV

Finding your purpose and mission in life requires that you have a willing heart and a sensitivity to the leading of the Holy Spirit. You must put self aside and truly seek His will. Finding His will for your life and the way in which you should go often entails much prayer and reading His Word and letting it speak to you. Sometimes, it requires hearing, not just audibly, but spiritually, the voices of others who seem to be speaking as if from God. God may use multiple ways to give you insight and direction.

Oftentimes, your mission and purpose encompasses a deep passion that you already have that can be used effectively for the betterment of His kingdom here on earth. This does not need to be something you are already doing, but the underlying passion is there. If you are not quite sure where to start, sometimes just stepping out in your passion will open the door and make the possibilities and opportunities more apparent.
