Trade in
your tears for laughter and joy. The Lord our God is the God of restoration and
renewal. He is the stream of living water in the dry and desolate desert of
your life.
May's Message, Day 18:
Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with
songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great
things for them.” The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with
joy. Restore our fortunes, Lord, like streams in the Negev. Those who sow with
tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to
sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them. Psalm 126:2-6 NIV
The Lord our
God is the God of renewal and restoration. He takes what was meant for evil and
miraculously transforms it into something beneficial. He takes pain and sorrow
and fashions it into laughter and songs of joy. He takes the dismal desert of
poverty and rejuvenates it into living streams of water to replenish and
refresh us anew. Tears of sorrow turn to tears of joy. Seeds of the sower are
shaped into a bountiful harvest. The Lord our God is a loving, caring God, who
watches over us and desires the best for us. He is the God of provision and
protection, mercy and grace, love and forgiveness, and He knows and calls us by
name. Call upon His name and trade in your tears of despair for raindrops of
joy.
