Did you
know that you’re the one—the one God loves as if you’re the only one, the
special one, His very own? You are the one. And so are every one of us.
February’s Awakening, Day 2
God loves each one of us as if there
were only one of us to love.
—Augustine of Hippo
The love of God is like the Amazon
River flowing down to water one daisy.
—Author Unknown
Jesus did not come to make God’s love
possible, but to make God’s love visible.

Painting and sculpture will lose their
appeal for the soul turned to that divine love which opened its arms upon the
cross to welcome us.
—Michelangelo
For
God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes
in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son
into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John
3:16–17 NIV
“What
do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will
he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that
wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that
one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way
your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should
perish. Matthew 18:12–14 NIV
Contemplate,
if you will, the total number of people that will ever have been alive on this
earth throughout all of history and the future to come. That means every
individual who has lived and died and every individual yet to live and die. The
number is somewhere in the billions as the current population living on this
earth is well over seven billion. Now ponder the thought that God intimately
knows each of us by name and even can number the hairs on our heads, and knows
each thought and each thought yet to come. It’s incomprehensible. What’s even
more astounding is the fact that each one of us, one of billions, is uniquely
precious to Him and His love for you, the one, knows no bounds. Infinite and
unfathomable and unconditional love from our Creator poured out just for you,
the one, as if you were the only one—yet He still does that for all the
billions of other ones too. That’s God’s amazing love. Amazing indeed.
