Render unto
Caesar what is Caesar's, and give unto God what is God's. Truth and integrity
speak clearest when doing so puts our self at risk.
June's Message, Day 9:
They came to him and said, “Teacher, we know that you are a man of integrity. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it right to pay the imperial tax to Caesar or not? Should we pay or shouldn’t we?” But Jesus knew their hypocrisy. “Why are you trying to trap me?” he asked. “Bring me a denarius and let me look at it.” They brought the coin, and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?” “Caesar’s,” they replied. Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” And they were amazed at him. Mark 12:14-17 NIV

Godly truth
and integrity are not swayed by the whims of man, nor political correctness,
nor the current societal ideology. Truth is simply righteous correctness in all
regards, even if being truthful is not to your gain or advantage. Truth and
integrity speak clearly when saying and doing so puts yourself at risk for
punishment. That's truth and that's integrity, regardless of who knows besides
yourself and regardless of the consequences you may face. We must do what we
must do, we must follow the laws of our governing bodies, and we must be
respectful of those in authority. Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and give
unto God what is God's. We are called to be obedient citizens and if there are
things that need to be changed, there are proper ways and channels to do just
that. Remember, exercise your freedoms while performing your duties. Freedom is
never free.
