No shame, no
disgrace, just a double portion of His inheritance and everlasting joy. It's
great to be a child of the King, our Loving Father, the Lord Almighty, Maker of
Heaven and Earth.
June's Message, Day 21:
Instead of your shame you will receive a double
portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so
you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be
yours. “For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing. In my
faithfulness I will reward my people and make an everlasting covenant with
them. Isaiah 61:7-8 NIV
In the
Bible, a double portion of the father's possessions went to the firstborn son
as his inheritance. The other sons would receive a single portion as their
inheritance. So being firstborn and a double portion go hand-in-hand. Christ is
called God's firstborn, firstborn over all creation, and firstborn from the
dead. We the church of believers, are also a type of firstborn of Christ.
Therefore, God wants to bless us doubly, exchanging our sin and shame for life
eternal, and exchanging our disgrace for joy in our double inheritance of
everything He has for us. God's supply is limitless, and none can fathom what
treasures He has in store for us who love Him. Stand firm in your inheritance
from God, as you are a doubly blessed child of the Almighty God, Maker of
Heaven and Earth.
