Changing
the attitudes and behaviors of the world begins within your own heart.
March’s Awakening, Day 8
If there is righteousness in the heart
there will be beauty in the character.
If there is beauty in the character,
there will be harmony in the home.
If there is harmony in the home, there
will be order in the nation.
When there is order in the nation,
there will be peace in the world.
—Author Unknown
Peace
is not an absence of war, it is a virtue, a state of mind, a disposition for
benevolence, confidence, justice.
—Baruch Spinoza
If
we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
—Mother Teresa
Though the mountains be shaken and the
hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my
covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10 NIV
If it is possible, as far as it depends
on you, live at peace with everyone. Romans 12:18
NIV
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they
will be called children of God. Matthew 5:9
NIV
We
all want world peace and this world we live in to be a better place. What we
oftentimes forget is that we are all connected and we are all brothers and
sisters stemming from Adam and Eve. We are not on this planet alone, nor can we
simply pick and choose our neighbors. While we should always embrace
Christianity fully, we should also be understanding of all the diverse cultures
and societies that comprise humanity. We are all created in God’s image and are
all dearly loved by Him. World peace begins as an attitude and condition of
your own heart. If we embrace each other like God sees the potential in each
one of us, we could truly make Earth the benevolent and peaceful home of all
God’s children.
