Wellness God’s Way: Body, Soul, and Spirit

     God’s essence is a triunity, three-in-one, God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit, and as such, He has chosen to create us as tripartite beings, the pinnacle of His created order. We are comprised of our physical body; our soul, which encompasses our mind, personality, and emotions; and our spirit, that invisible intangible that connects us directly with God. To be well and in order our entire essence—body, soul, and spirit—must be healthy and vibrant.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 NIV

     Your body is the living, breathing external housing that encompasses the essence of your inner being that defines you as being you. If the external body is not strong and healthy, the inner workings of your mind and emotions, which depend upon a living and vigorous physical nature, will also be compromised.

Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. 3 John 1:2 NIV

     Likewise, if your soul is in anguish, your physical body and spirit are also likely to be in an other-than-optimal state. 

The human spirit is the lamp of the Lord that sheds light on one’s inmost being. Proverbs 20:27 NIV

     Furthermore, if God’s light is not shining in you and through you by your spirit connection with Him, then there is nothing within you but darkness and despair.

Patient Endurance

     I had truly hoped that long before now, my second book, Restore My Spirit, O God, would have been published and available for acquisition. It has been in the publication phase for over thirteen months. I had just recently received a test copy of the book to be sent out for distribution but was not totally satisfied with its appearance compared to the digital image that I approved. Unfortunately therefore, we are re-working the cover design to increase the density and legibility of the text and correct a few centering issues on the hardcover. This will take an additional two months, another of the multiple hurdles that I have had to face with this publication. 

     Patient endurance with persistence and perseverance, yes, and this book is so worth it. Coming soon! 

This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus. Revelation 14:12

Drink Living Water

     Water is the essential component for the existence of life, and the conditions under which it can exist are very narrow and specific. It is highly improbable that we will find the existence of liquid water anywhere else in our universe. Life here on earth is a unique phenomenon brought about by the spoken word of our Creator.

     Just as water is required for our physical survival, so too is the spiritual living water that flows from Christ through us. Without His living water flowing within and through us, we would be spiritually wasting away, dying, and ultimately, spiritually dead.

 

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13–14 NIV

 

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:37–38 NIV  

 

     If you’re spiritually running dry and desiccating in the desert sand, then you need to come to the ever-flowing river of living water and drink deeply of Him. It is there, with Him, that you yourself will become a living spring of water that flows into others.

 

For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’ ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’ Revelation 7:17 NIV
